The loss of a shade tree prompted this customer to build some much needed shade to cover her back porch. This roof addition offered a retreat from the heat of the sun but also an inviting spot to hang out when it’s dark. The deck only offered a single bulb light fixture but now it has dimmable and motion sensored can lights and soon to have hanging porch lights operated by an outlet with a dimmable switch. I’m figuring out exactly how much I can handle when it comes to how big of jobs I can do. This roof addition over an existing deck seems like a simple job but when you’re by yourself it offers certain challenges, mainly ones that give sore muscles. I love the transformation this project made to the back of this house!
